In Julio M. Lara's autobiographical second book, GOD, SATAN AND ME, he tells what it was like to be only seventeen and be fighting next to Che Guevara in Fidel Castro's army. When the revolution ended, Fidel’s government took over Cuba, including his father’s ranch. Betrayed by those he fought with, Lara rebelled against Castro. As an 18-year-old captain he spent the worst year of his life in the Cuban mountains. He was hunted, wounded and forced to flee to South America only to have control of his new country fall under communist control.
