june 2014 By Bill Korach www.thereportcard.org This month, Derek Hankerson announced his candidacy for the District Six Senate seat currently held by John Thrasher. Derek Hankerson is the two-term Chairman of Putnam County Tea Party Patriots and former 2nd Vice President of St. John’s County Republican Executive Committee. The Report Card asked Mr. Hankerson his views on education and the Common Core Standard. “I attended public school and believe in public education, but America has long since lost her #1 position in education to other nations. ![]() Derek Hankerson Candidate For Florida Senate - District 6 No longer could I sit back and do nothing. Because my heritage in District 6 dates back to the 18th century I feel compelled to stand up for true American values and conservative principles; including our public education system. Your ancestors, like mine, did not die defending socialist policies and an anti-American education. As your Senator I will work to . . . Restore Education Local Control Repeal Red Light Cameras Protect Your Property Rights Support for Pro-Life Legislation Advocate for the Fair Tax Fight for 2nd Amendment Rights Bring Jobs to District 6 Reduce Taxes and Fees “One of the penalties for refusing to participate in politics is that you end up being governed by your inferiors.” - Plato |
