Dear Senator/Congressman/Delegate:
Just prior to the 2014 midterm elections, The Villages Tea Party in The Villages, Florida, conducted a survey of its membership to identify the issues they believe are most important to the future success of our country. That survey is attached for your review.
As you will see from our results, three of the issues on the survey rose to the top with our membership:
- National Security emerged as the most important issue in our survey.
- 100% of the respondents identified Strengthening the Military and Protecting our Borders as actions that are imperative for maintaining and improving our National Security.
- 94% of our respondents were against the US signing a UN Arms Treaty, and
- 76% would like to see the U.S. Withdraw from the UN.
Following are actions that were identified as highest priority before any kind of amnesty or legalization
takes place:
- Secure the Border was the very first priority for the majority of the respondents. It makes no sense to start a legalization process if people are going to continue coming across the border. Additionally, in conjunction with the first priority of National Security, we have to ensure that no people (OTM’s) who are hostile to the United States are able to breach our borders and threaten our safety.
- Enforce Existing Immigration Law was the second priority action. The United States already has Immigration Laws that are not being followed. There is no need to enact new legislation, or allow the President to unilaterally act when the laws we have are not being enforced.
- Our respondents also identified providing more Border Guards as an important action to achieving a secure border.
- First and foremost, the respondents want to Repeal Obamacare.
- Second, our respondents want the IRS out of Health Care.
- Lastly, the respondents identified allowing Health Insurance to be sold across state lines and Health Savings Accounts as important actions to be included in a replacement Health Care Plan.
Thank you for your attention and consideration of the opinions of The Villages Tea Party on these very important issues.
Sincerely,
Aileen Milton
President, The Villages Tea Party
